
When you picture an industrial interior, do you also picture pink? I know I don’t, which is why this space made my eyebrows do that one up/one down thing they sometimes do when I’m confused. Initially, I wasn’t sure about the color choice, but the more I looked at it, the more I now think it works perfectly. Something about the juxtaposition of the cold/hard with the warm/soft. How about you? Do you think the pink + industrial coupling works?
Fall in the DC area is absolutely beautiful. If you are ever here during this time I recommend a visit to Sugar Loaf Mountain where you can sip wine on a patio, listen to live music and hike along the woods and vineyard. Very picturesque and one of the few vineyards that welcome dogs. We spent my birthday afternoon here and with the sun shining, a chill in the air, it was a glorious day.



No birthday of mine is complete without company of AWESOME friends, great food and wine. I am blessed with wonderful people around me. I feel so lucky to have each of them in my life. A few spots that treated us well this weekend:Bezu in Potomac, MD. H

What a great idea! BetterWall partners with museums across the country to recycle their old street banner advertisements of museum exhibitions to turn them into art folks can buy for their home. We got an email from Nicolas Weiser, who with his wife, started this great idea in 2005. (We actually first blogged about them way back in 2006!) Instead of throwing away these great banners, people can buy ones that have meaning to them. We like that it could have meaning in lots of ways–it could be a favorite artist that draws you to a banner, it could be that you have great memories of a day at a museum or you could just love art and your favorite city.
