August 26th, 2011Visit to Minterne Gardens, Minterne Magna
On Thursday and Friday of this week, OH and I moseyed down country Dorset way. While on the road, we stopped at these gardens. The Manor House is right next door to a charming little church and there is a convenient little car park opposite the gates.
We wandered through the woodland gardens for well over 2 hours and, tho a little unkempt, this place had a charm all of its own.

The Manor House was so typical of its architect, even I guessed it was Lutyens.

The beginning of the woodland walkdelightful blossom!

This tree was covered in moss!

The place was almost deserted; we were greeted by an honesty box and only saw 3 couples during our time there. We had the most relaxing and peaceful walk.

Just down the road, we just had to visit the Cerne Giant at Cerne Abbas.
Then at about 1pm, we left to make our way to Bournemouth and Compton Acres which was our next port of call.
