What a great idea! BetterWall partners with museums across the country to recycle their old street banner advertisements of museum exhibitions to turn them into art folks can buy for their home. We got an email from Nicolas Weiser, who with his wife, started this great idea in 2005. (We actually first blogged about them way back in 2006!) Instead of throwing away these great banners, people can buy ones that have meaning to them. We like that it could have meaning in lots of ways–it could be a favorite artist that draws you to a banner, it could be that you have great memories of a day at a museum or you could just love art and your favorite city.

The president of our horticultural club is the owner of 2 large furniture stores in Norfolk , he moved into a renovated barn complex a few months ago , a beautiful place . He invited the club along and challenged us to design his garden the winner was to win £50 Today we went to a show where the winner was to be announced it was me , he is using my design , isn’t that great ,I couldn’t believe it , I’m so looking forward to seeing his garden layed out the way I could see it …

The same wall colors chosen to complement the distinctive collection of modern art showcased in New York City’s famed Guggenheim Museum are now available as a new line of paint: Guggenheim Color developed in a collaboration by the museum and Fine Paints of Europe Inc. of Woodstock, Vt.

The line includes two collections: The Gallery Colors represent 50 original hues used for milestone museum exhibitions and shades chosen by artists, curators and exhibition designers such as Frank Lloyd Wright. “It’s mind boggling to figure out what white or gray to pick,” says Guggenheim’s Managing Director of Business Development Karen Meyerhoff, who adds the soft but slightly warm G013 white from the line is the color the Guggenheim uses most frequently.

BASSETT, Va. — Bassett Furniture Inds. has hiked its quarterly dividend to 3.5 cents per share for the upcoming quarter.

The previous quarterly dividend, which was paid Sept. 1, was 3 cents per share. The new dividend will be payable Dec. 1 to shareholders of record Nov. 15.
