Day got more exciting as it progressed. Two of my Acer seeds germinated last night and blinking heck my good lady was correct we have young in one of my nest boxes. Two blue tits were telling me in no certain tones to vamoose from under their nest box but it didn’t dawn on me why, until i heard scratching and squealing coming from the box above me. Had to apologise to my good lady as i thought she had mistaken what she told me she had heard the other day. The adult Blue tits went straight to the box as i walked away so i intend to avoid all nine boxes at points around our garden in case more birds are in occupancy. Hope the year continues as today. Now going to put my hard hat on and tackle Tiny,s play station construction (LoL). Take care all and enjoy Tony
Q: Our 50-pound, 1-year-old shar-pei/golden retriever mix was diagnosed with an ACL tear in the rear hind leg. The treatment recommendation is a TPLO surgery. We are looking for feedback regarding recovery, likelihood for future injury to the same or the other hind leg, and quality of life with and without surgery. Money is a consideration, but not the main issue; we really would like to make the best decision for our dog. Our struggle centers on putting him through (potentially) multiple surgeries with long and difficult recovery periods when his behavior seems completely normal, despite his injury.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Case goods manufacturer Crawford Furniture has shut down its plant here, according to a report in local newspaper The Post-Journal.
The report said the closure took place Dec. 31 and resulted in the layoff of 84 workers.
According to its website, the 128-year-old company, which had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August, produced solid wood furniture of black cherry, maple, ash and oak at the plant.
Crawford also had five retail locations in the Jamestown area, but announced in October that it was closing those stores to focus on the manufacturing side of its business. At the time of the store closings, the company said it continued to sell to about 200 furniture retailers in the U.S.
Attempts to contact Crawford Furniture officials were unsuccessful and a voice mailbox at the company’s Jamestown headquarters was full. <
